Studio concepts/Brand identity

Morrow Studio

An identity system for a fictional ceramics studio: mark, wordmark, spacing, pattern, stationery, packaging and a landing preview.

Studio concept

A fictional brief designed by the studio to show the work. It is not a client project and makes no claims about results.

01The brief

Small studio. Consistent everywhere.

Morrow is an imagined ceramics studio whose labels, website and social posts were each made separately. The brief: one identity that holds together from a business card to a shipping box, simple enough for the owners to apply themselves.

02Mark & wordmark

A mark built from the thing they make.

A bowl in profile, reduced to its rim and one curve. Switch between variants and see the clear-space rule that keeps it legible.

morrowclear space = ½ mark height
  • Lockup for web headers and shop signage.
  • Stacked for square spaces: labels, stamps, profile images.
  • Mark only under 24px, and pressed into the base of each piece.

03System

Colour, type and pattern.

A small palette taken from glaze and clay, one serif for voice, one sans for information, and a pattern made from the mark.

  • Clay#b9734f
  • Celadon#a9bfa8

Aa

Stoneware · 14cm · dishwasher safe

04Applied

05Copy, before and after

Say what it is. Then why it matters.

Example copy written for the concept, with the reasoning behind each change.

Before

Welcome to Morrow, where passion meets clay!

After

Tableware made slowly, for everyday use.

Why: Says what they sell and how, in seven words. “Passion” could be any business.
